Muiltidisciplinary Visual Artist & Creative

Artist Statement & Bio

Amya Meshelle is an LGBTQ multidisciplinary visual artist, painter, and creative, born and raised in the heart of Brockton, MA. Drawing inspiration from life itself, Amya’s art is a reflection of personal experiences and memories. She often creates from her photographs, favorite films, and nostalgic elements that evoke her childhood.

She creates using different mediums such as oil paint, acrylic, watercolor, stamp making, graphic design, and mixed media work. Her work explores emotional themes such as coming of age, girlhood, fractured familial relationships, and the complexities of human existence. Through her art, Amya aims to foster discourse and connection, inviting viewers to engage with shared vulnerability.

The core intention behind her personal work is to give voice to her inner child. As a biracial, queer, and disabled artist, Amya has navigated challenges with mental health and identity, finding in art a powerful outlet for self-expression. Her creative process serves as a vessel for processing profound emotions and building bridges to connect with herself and others. Amya’s art is not only a testament to her resilience but also a celebration of authenticity and the transformative power of creativity.
